Off To Vermont....

I'm headed off to Vermont tomorrow afternoon. My to-do list for tomorrow is only getting LONGER, so I probably won't have any time to get on here. My cousin is getting married Saturday.

Since we are actually flying in and out of Boston (we're going to a very small city in Vermont that only has a regional airport), we are actually spending all day Monday in Boston before heading home early Tuesday morning.

I'm so excited! I've only driven through Vermont a couple times (yes we bought syrup), and I haven't been to Boston since I lived there (I was less than a year old though, so I remember NOTHING about it!). I'll be sure to take lots of pictures to share with you guys when I get back :)

Someone isn't happy...

Totally random...I just wanted to share this picture of Scooter from the other day.

I took him to get his yearly shots and while we were waiting for his test results, he just sat there staring at me. If he could talk, I think he would have been saying something like "Mom, what just happened in there and why did you make me go through that? That's really not cool, and I don't ever want to do that again."

I had to bribe him with a treat to get him to stop staring at me. He can be such a snob sometimes. On the way out, he pooped by the door. I had to go ask the woman for a plastic baggy to clean it up. Guess that shows me who's boss here.

Whoops!

It's been over two weeks since my birthday, and I Just realized I forgot to show you guys what D got me.

Let me start by saying, I don't like surprises. If it's a real surprise that I know nothing about, then I love it. However, if there is a special occasion or someone tells me "I have a surprise for you" then I can't stand it. I just want to know! I love surprising people though so go figure.

Anyways, back to the birthday presents.

I've been lusting over a tortoise Michael Kors watch. I didn't have a specific one in mind. I already have a two-tone MK watch, so I wanted tortoise because it was totally different. I'm usually not very good at being subtle about what I want. I send Dustin an email listing 8-10 (or more) present ideas. He usually ends up getting something off of the list.

This year was no exception.

The first thing on my list was a tortoise MK watch and guess what showed up on my birthday??

That's right, this little beauty. I still have to get a link or two taken out, so I've only worn it once. I'm so excited because it's so completely different from my other watch.

That's what my other watch looks like. As you can see, they are totally different.

D also got me this little sweatshirt from Victoria's Secret. If there's one thing to know about me, it's that I love my comfy clothes.

Also, this was one of the things my parents got me:

Yup. I'm definitely getting older. However, I am really excited to get to using this! I really enjoy cooking and have had my eye on one of these babies for awhile!

Crazy Little Thing Called Love

After getting back from my trip to Nashville and the farm, I had a surprise engagement party for one of my best friends, Mandy.

The proposal happened on the 18th green at a golf course here in Memphis. Everyone was waiting inside the clubhouse to surprise them after she said "Yes!" He even had a short fireworks display that we could all see from the clubhouse for right after the proposal. It was such a special night celebrating two amazing people.

This sign was out on the green where the proposal took place.
Obviously the answer was YES!

I am so happy for the two of them. D and I are going to dinner and a movie with them tomorrow night, and I can't wait to see them again!

Country Boys and Girls Gettin' Down on the Farm

So last week my mom and I decided to take a quick roadtrip to Nashville. My cousin from NY, Brian, is in a band, These Animals, and they are in the middle of a tour. When we found out they were coming to Nashville we figured why not? It's only 3 hours away. All of the other shows were too far to just hop in the car and drive. We had such a great time, and it was my first time hearing their music live. I really love their music. Check out their website here.

This is my only picture from the show and unfortunately it's from my phone. I had a better one where Brian's eyes were open; however, I accidentally deleted it. (I've had an iPhone for years, yet I somehow still manage to do silly things like that)

The morning after the show, we had breakfast with my cousin and his bandmates before heading back out of town.  (You're welcome for another awesome phone pic.)

We left Nashville and headed straight to my grandparent's farm in Paris, TN. We got there right before my little cousins were leaving to head back to Memphis.

I was extremely tired because I had been out late with my cousin the night before. However, I had to be ready for my little cousins to attack me. They are always a ball of energy and love to roll around on the floor. We took a few pictures before they hit the road. (These were taken the same day as the previous photo, so no I did not just wear the same clothes for days in a row.)

Strike a pose

They were in charge of our poses

Funny faces, of course

I didn't stand a chance against them

24 isn't so exciting...

So my 24th birthday was last week. Wooho..wait 24? Number 1: I don't feel like I'm that old yet and Number 2: How anti-climactic is a 24th birthday? I can already vote, drink, smoke (even though I don't), and serve in the military; however, I still can't rent an SUV from a car rental.

Anyways, just thought I would share a few pictures from my birthday. I didn't take many pictures from the night we went out downtown. D wasn't feeling good, so we didn't stay out too late.

Thursday night (my birthday), D and I went to dinner at Texas de Brazil. Yum!

Here are a few pictures from our night out Friday night:

Here is further proof that I'm getting old and boring. This is one of the things my parents got me this year, and I was REALLY excited about it. D is excited about all the goodies I'll make him.

Birthday Dress!

The hunt is over...I found my birthday dress Thursday night when I dragged D with me to Macy's. Thank goodness since my birthday is Thursday! I'll be celebrating Friday night, and I was convinced I would be dress shopping until the day of my party!

Anyways, thought I would include a picture of it. Let me add a few things: 1. This dress is more of a drop waist, 2. It's not NEARLY this short on me. The model is probably at least 5'10", and I'm only 5'5" and 3. It's hard to tell from the picture but the bottom has large fringe hanging off of it.

I'm super excited! My birthday is always my favorite day of the year :)

Guess Who's Back....Back Again?

Everyone loves a little old school Eminem throwback.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend so far. I just wanted to share some of my pictures from my trip to Nashville last weekend for the Nicki Minaj/Britney Spears concert.

BFFF, me, and Laura our first night in Nashville

Thomas, our handsome host for the weekend.

At Cabana in our own cabana...so yummy!

Outside Cabana with my girls

Sunday Funday at The Stage on Broadway

BFFF and I headed to Britney

Yay!!! Such a good concert!!

So I know that there are no pictures from the show itself. I tried (really hard!) but none of them turned out. They're all just blurs of lights and people. Just take my word for it...the concert was AMAZING!! The best way to describe it would be to say that it was like a dance party with thousands of my closest friends.

Happy Saturday!

Call Me Crazy...

But I love Britney Spears! I know she's crazy, but I just can't help it....I love her. I'm well aware that she's not the best singer; however, she's quite the performer.

My BFFF Alex and I are going to see her concert Monday night in Nashville! I cannot wait. We're leaving Saturday afternoon and coming back Tuesday morning. It's going to be hard to come back. I love Nashville so much, and I always have so much fun there!

I'll be sure to take LOTS of pictures at the concert!

Fun for the 4th!

I actually had this post written days ago and forgot to finish/post it. Whoops :) Anyways, I love entertaining, so when my BFFF, Alex, came to me with the idea of having a little get together for the 4th I thought, why not?

Everyone met at my house for some appetizers, cocktails, and jello shots. Then some of us headed downtown to see some fireworks (my fave!)

We were running a little late so we watched most of the downtown Memphis fireworks from the car, but we decided to go to one of the hotel's rooftops so we could watch the Redbirds shoot off their fireworks after the game ended.

Here are a few photos from the night:

Brad Paisley

This is completely random, BUT I was watching The Voice last night and Brad Paisley performed. All I could concentrate on was how cute his guitars are. I've seen him in concert before so I knew that he always has a paisley guitar (hmm...wonder why??) But last night I just couldn't get over how much I would want a paisley guitar (if I knew how to play it...) Just thought I would share a few random pictures of him and his guitars.
